The action packed FKFPL match ended in a 2:2 draw that saw Gor Mahia remaining at the top of the log with 38 points against KCB who comes second with 36 while Nzoia closes the top three contest with 34 points.
K’ogallo opened their scoresheet through Austine Odhiambo that was later neutralised by Ian Karani before the end of first half.
The fully charged Nzoia FC came back in second half ready to serve the fish mongers with sucrose soup but unluckily the center referee awarded the visitors a dubious penalty that was converted from spot kick by Benson Omalla.
Coach Salim Babu was forced to go back to his manuals and tactically opted to initiate the duo of James Kibande and Emoni for Hassan Beja and Yasin Sije.
These two fresh legs yielded a sensional results when they played very crispy, accurate and tongue licking passes that saw Gor Mahia’s goalkeeper committing a foul against Kibande within his area of jurisdiction.
The man who has now haunted Gor Mahia twice, steeped up and scored the penalty.
The crowd applauded the equaliser because it was a special goal for the young, dedicated and talented Kibande James. It marked his return, cemented his intentions for the team and dedication to the Nzoia Sugar FC badge.
