Nzoia Sugar have watched the chance to scale to the summit of the Football Kenya Federation Premier League slip through their hands after playing Posta Rangers to a 1-1 draw at Sudi Stadium.

The Bungoma based club has been doing incredibly well in their home matches but failed to hold on their lead as well lost a penalty to share points with the visitors.

Nzoia had gotten off to a dream start as Joseph Mwangi, deservedly, gave them the lead in the seventh minute.

The goal by the attacking midfielder who is on top of his game this season, saw him take his tally to eight goals and consequently, he remains the best scorer for the outfit.

However, the mailmen responded in the 38th minute, a strike that would go on to earn them a point after the final whistle as they held on to the pressure from the hosts.

Nzoia would have netted the second goal in the second half from the spot but Boniface Munyendo watched his kick end in the goalkeeper’s arms.

The midfielder has five goals against his name in the campaign, all gotten from the spot.

Elsewhere, Kenya Police were held to a 1-1 draw by ten-man FC Talanta at the Kasarani Stadium.

Police were hoping to pile more miseries on Talanta and move to within a touching distance of the two top teams but their efforts bore them a point.

Talanta grabbed the lead in the 49th minute but it did not last longer as Elvis Rupia struck in the 57th minute to restore parity for the law enforcers.
